"Art allows me to bring out the character of rivers, forests, clouds, cities, and people; to capture the surrounding world manifesting itself in the desire to live, love, and create."  --  Larissa Makeeva.

Having gained much insight into many different cultures of Northern Europe, Central Asia, and North America, I feel that my work has been greatly inspired by endless celebration of life.

Oil on canvas is the medium I use for most of my work.

Art allows me to bring out the character of rivers, forests, clouds, cities, and people; to capture the surrounding world manifesting itself in the desire to live, love, and create.

Larissa Makeeva holds two masters degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. This rare blend of right and left brain capabilities proves she is not your typical artist!

Originally born in Russia, Larissa grew up in Europe and traveled the Middle East extensively. This diversity of cultural influences, scientific background and artistic abilities are synthesized into a cohesive vision that is revealed in her paintings.

Using a medium of oil on canvas, Larissa paints contemporaries, abstracts, landscapes and nudes. Larissa’s unique style is immediately recognizable. Her contemporary studies are full of movement and imaginative, vibrant color. Contritely, the European landscapes are serene and romantic scenes of rivers, which capture flowing water charged with beautifully orchestrated colors. It is this ability to capture such extremes that intrigues her followers.
